Compassion in Action Seeds of Compassion organizers partner with Atigeo for epic event
On April 12–15, 2008, a historic event took place in Seattle that put the spotlight on compassion and kindness. The event organizer, Seeds of Compassion, brought together His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and other global dignitaries in a dynamic exchange with scientists, researchers, public policy leaders, experts in child development and the Seattle community on the critical importance of giving children the social and emotional foundation they need to become happy, compassionate adults and positive members of society.
The sold-out event was attended by over 150,000 people and an additional 80 million individuals participated via television, radio, webcasts, and internet communities.
The ability to capture and collect donations online and via mobile devices was critical to the success of the Seeds of Compassion launch event.
Seeds of Compassion turned to Atigeo for assistance. Bellevue-based Atigeo specializes in next-generation relevance technology. Over the course of the five-day event, people were inspired by messages of compassion and gave generously.
"Atigeo helped Seeds of Compassion generate over $650,000 in donations via its mobile and online technology," said Daniel Kranzler, Seeds of Compassion Co-Founder. "On behalf of the entire Seeds of Compassion leadership team, we are in gratitude and service to you."
